Virtual casting starts for season nine of Big Brother Canada


TORONTO — Casting for the next season of Big Brother Canada is officially underway and will be done completely virtually because of Covid-19. Corus Entertainment’s Global TV and show producer Insight Productions announced the casting call on Monday.

Season nine is set to debut on Global in spring 2021. Big Brother Canada is produced by Insight Productions in association with Corus Entertainment and Endemol Shine. Executive producers are John Brunton, Erin Brock, Eric Abboud, Trevor Boris and Arisa Cox (pictured).

“The very spirit of Big Brother Canada is an inclusive one and we are ready to embark on another casting journey in search of Canadians who represent our country and its rich mosaic of cultures,” said Erin Brock, executive producer and showrunner, Insight Productions/Big Brother Canada, in the news release. “Alongside our talented casting team, and newly minted EP and series host, Arisa Cox, we’re encouraging all qualified Canadians to take a shot at this once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

Applications to become a houseguest on season nine of Big Brother Canada are being accepted online at bigbrothercanadacasting.ca until November 15. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the show is conducting casting virtually and forgoing in-person auditions for the first time ever. Applicants need to record a short video explaining why they have what it takes to compete on Big Brother Canada.
