Virgin Mobile jams with Toronto nightclub

TORONTO – In an innovative take on marketing, Virgin Mobile is joining forces with Toronto nightspot the Mod Club to help revive the venue and sponsor live music shows.

The long-term partnership, which kicks off November 5, will premiere with an intimate acoustic performance from British rocker Noel Gallagher on its opening night, three days ahead of the self-titled album release from Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

Virgin Mobile will also sweeten the deal for its Virgin Mobile Members with benefits that include VIP lines to get into the show without a wait, chances to get guest list access or free concert tickets, opportunities for discounted or pre-sale tickets, exclusive chances to meet the bands, and members-only areas for the best seats in the house.

"The Mod Club has showcased some of the hottest up and coming acts from around the world," said Andrew Bridge, managing director for Virgin Mobile Canada, in the announcement.  "This new partnership to create the Virgin Mobile Mod Club is a great way to shine the spotlight on great music while bringing more access and benefits to our Members."
