MONTREAL – Videotron’s community channel MAtv is promising a fall programming schedule that doubles down on its commitment to focus on local ideas and distinctive content proposed by Montrealers.
The channel, which last year came under fire for violating the CRTC’s local and access programming requirements, said that over 50% of its new fall programming is comprised of projects from the community.
That content, scheduled to debut September 26, includes three new English-language series, two new French-language programs, three new hosts, and the return of popular series such as shows Mise À Jour and Premières vues.
"MAtv is constantly challenging itself to renew its television offering and innovate by introducing new formats and themes that resonate with the different Montreal communities," said MAtv director of programming and marketing Isabelle Larin, in the news release. "The programs selected are among many projects submitted by Montrealers. We receive an increasing number of requests every year."
Distributed exclusively to 1.7 Videotron customers across Quebec, MAtv is available on channel 9 and in HD on channel 609. It is also available on illico TV (channel 900), online at illico.tv, on iPad and Android tablets through the illico.tv app and on illico mobile.
