TORONTO – Videotron’s Valérie Héroux is headed to Harvard in June as this year’s recipient of the CTAM Canada Fellowship Award, also known as CTAM U.

Héroux, pictured, holds a bachelor degree in both Civil and Common Law from McGill University. During her six-year in private legal practice, she specialized in communications law (CRTC regulatory) representing media companies such as Astral Media.  She pursued her career as internal legal counsel at film distribution company Alliance Atlantis (now known as eOne Entertainment), followed by Quebecor Media, where she led the negotiation for the renewal of the artists' association collective agreement with the TVA Group, clearing rights for the new media environment.

Since October 2009, Héroux has worked at Videotron, currently as senior director, teledistribution, multiplatform programming.  In this role, she has built a strong team capable of producing and implementing key business cases and strategy for the distribution of television services on a multiplatform basis via tablets, computer and mobile devices.

Héroux currently serves on the Board of CTAM Canada as membership chair.

"On behalf of CTAM Canada and all of our members, I would like to congratulate Valerie on being selected to attend CTAM U this summer”, said CTAM Canada president Drew Robinson, in the announcement.  “The entire association benefits from sending one of our members to Harvard. It is a unique opportunity where Valerie will get the chance to meet and study with a diverse group of industry peers from around the world”.
