MONTREAL — With second-wave Covid-19 lockdowns restricting holiday gatherings this year, Videotron announced today it is helping customers stay connected with loved ones by temporarily waiving data overage charges on all residential and business Internet plans between December 20 and January 3, 2021.
Customers will be able to get together virtually without worrying about extra data charges, as if they had an unlimited plan, Videotron says in a press release this morning. The change will apply automatically to customers’ accounts, and there is no need for them to contact Videotron to take advantage of the temporary offer.
“Though the holidays won’t be the same this year, the need to come together, unwind, share a laugh and see our loved ones hasn’t changed,” says Jean-François Pruneau, president and CEO of Videotron, in the press release. “More than ever, Québec families need to stay connected and we’re happy to be able to help them do it when it really counts.”
Videotron says the suspension of Internet data caps is also intended to help support the many seniors and people living alone during what could be a difficult holiday season for them.
