Videotron sells 4Degrees Colocation for $259M


MONTREAL – Videotron is selling off its 4Degrees Colocation data centers to California-based data center service provider Vantage Data Centers for C$259 million, subject to certain adjustments.Videotron first bought Quebec City-based 4Degrees Colocation in 2015 for $31.5 million.  As part of Videotron, it expanded its Quebec City facility and built a second data centre in Montreal (pictured).  Both locations received dual Tier III Design and Construction certification from the Uptime Institute, an independent organization that serves as the international standard for data centers.Videotron president and CEO Manon Brouillette said that the acquisition will allow 4Degrees to “continue growing as part of a...
