Quebecor’s Videotron announced Wednesday it is continuing the rollout of its Helix technology in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region, making available its internet and TV services to more than 20,000 additional households in Roberval, Alma, Saint-Bruno, Hérbertville, Hérbertville-Station, Chambord and Saint-Nazaire.

“Videotron is very pleased to welcome residents from several municipalities in Saguenay–Lac-St-Jean to the Helix family,” said Quebecor President and CEO Pierre Karl Péladeau in a Videotron press release. “This expansion of our Internet and television services furthers our mission of fostering healthy, vigorous competition that directly benefits consumers.”

These new Helix-powered services are being made available alongside Videotron’s existing wireless services in the region, Videotron’s press release said.

Wednesday’s announcement follows the recent expansion of Videotron’s Helix service in Drummondville, Magog, Rimouski, Saint-Hyacinthe, Trois-Rivières, Huntingdon and Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.

Videotron said its home-grown Helix platform delivers unlimited, high-performance and secure internet access with the option of adding a package of the best TV and online content. The technology offers features such as voice-activated remote control, and it also supports control and management of connected home devices for a complete smart home solution, Videotron said.
