Videotron releases illico.tv app for iPad


MONTRÉAL – Videotron customers now have a new free way to access the most popular channels and programs with the release of the company’s illico.tv app for iPad. Videotron customers can now access the most popular shows from many of the channels in their television package on their iPad, when and where they want.

With the app, the ability to access illico content on four screens – computer, TV, mobile and tablet is being expanded to offer a full entertainment experience on the iPad says Videotron. Customers can choose between live streaming and video on demand.

“I’m confident that users will be impressed by this fingertip experience,” said Manon Brouillette, President, Consumer Market. “I would also like to point out that the app was developed by Quebecers for Quebecers.”

To develop the app, Videotron teamed up with Nurun, a Québec company that specializes in new consumer behaviour and development of multi-screen experience.

Videotron says illico.tv content on iPad will be constantly enriched to bring customers the best in entertainment. The illico.tv app already features 40 television channels and thousands of hours of programming, in French and English.

The app includes all the illico.tv functionalities that Videotron customers expect. It can be used to remotely program the customer’s video recorder or to view the full TV schedule on an iPad.

Customers can use the illico.tv app to start, pause and resume play of on-demand content on four screens: TV (channel 900), mobile handset (illico mobile), computer and Android tablet (illico.tv website), and as of today iPad.
