Videotron opens 4Degrees data centre in Montreal

MONTREAL – Videotron cut the ribbon on its new $40 million data centre in Montreal on Tuesday.Designed specifically for data hosting, the 4,000-square-metre facility has an available load of 16 megawatts and is located in Technoparc Saint-Laurent.  The centre is now connected to the Quebec City centre via the company’s fibre optic network, allowing Videotron to offer Tier III certified intraprovincial redundancy. The company added that it is also in the process of obtaining Payment Card Industry – Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification, meaning customers will be able to operate their e-commerce solutions in accordance with the most stringent security...
