Videotron gets $28.58 million in rural funding to deliver broadband to 5,400 homes


QUEBEC CITY — The federal and Quebec governments are providing $28.58 million in funding through the Canada-Quebec Operation High Speed program for Videotron to bring high-speed Internet access to 5,460 households in the Estrie and Montérégie regions by September 2022. Including Videotron’s contribution, the total investment in the broadband build is $31.66 million, according to a press release from Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada earlier this week.
