Videotron gears up for Ultra HD launch

MONTREAL - Videotron says that it will be the first TV service provider in Canada to offer set-top boxes and network capabilities to support the delivery of ultra-high-definition content.The company will make the official announcement Tuesday morning in Montreal at an event at Société des arts technologiques (SAT) and Cartt.ca will be there.We’re curious where this content will be coming from (VOD movies? a UHD channel perhaps?), and, assuming that it means UHD 4K, whether Netflix users wishing to stream 4K online will be able to do it now over Videotron’s network.
