MONTREAL – Videotron has released illico for Apple Watch, an app that gives Apple Watch customers a new way to explore content and control their TV experience all with the touch of a finger.
The app, unveiled Monday, includes a Flip function which allows users to flip between channels within a given genre, such as music, sports or children's content, from Videotron's lineup of live channels. Users may also use the app to fast forward, rewind or pause any show, on a live channel or on video on demand.
“Created entirely by our product development team, our new illico app for Apple Watch anticipates our customers' needs and offers them a new and unique way to enhance their television experience," said Videotron president and CEO Manon Brouillette, in the news release. "Our goal in developing this app was to complement the traditional remote control experience right from Apple Watch.”
The illico app for Apple Watch is available for free download from the Apple Watch App Store. The illico app for iPhone is available now from the App Store, though customers must have an illico new generation set-top box.
