Vianet breaks ground on UBF-funded project in King Township

KING TOWNSHIP, Ont. — Less than three weeks after the announcement it was receiving funding through the federal government’s Universal Broadband Fund (UBF), independent ISP Vianet announced this week it has started construction of a new fibre-to-the-home network that will bring high-speed Internet access to 485 underserved households in the communities of Pottageville, Lloydtown and Nobleton in King Township, located north of Toronto. On March 18, the federal government announced the project was receiving $2.27 million through the UBF’s rapid response stream.
