TORONTO – Canadians will now have a chance to get their dose of daily news even earlier with the launch of the country’s first ‘early early’ morning show.
Starting this Fall, CHCH Ontario will debut Morning Live First Edition which will air weekdays from 4 – 5:30am ET. While the hosts have not yet been announced, the show promises to serve up breaking news, weather, traffic, sports and entertainment information.
Also announced during its up-front presentation on Wednesday is that CHCH Ontario and its sister station Métro14 Montréal will air the world broadcast premiere of the blockbuster film Avatar, specifically the film’s ‘director’s cut’ version, which includes added scenes and a running time beyond that of its theatrical release.
"It’s the biggest television event to hit TV screens this year, and we’re proud to have the exclusive broadcast rights," said Romen Podzyhun, chairman and CEO of parent company Channel Zero, in the announcement. "Avatar will air in stunning high definition on both CHCH and Métro14 and will feature an alternative opening and additional scenes, so viewers will get to experience James Cameron’s full vision of the film."
Both stations will also add new U.S. series Hart of Dixie, The Insider, and Secret Circle to their prime time schedules this Fall.
