Vecima names new SVP corporate development

VICTORIA – Vecima Networks said Monday that Richard (Dean) Rockwell has assumed the newly created role of senior vice president, corporate development, and has resigned from the company's board of directors.

Rockwell was most recently CEO of BC based technology company In Motion Technology, and also served as COO of Pulse Energy and CEO of the British Columbia Innovation Council (BCIC).  Before returning to his native BC in 2008, he spent over 20 years as a senior executive with Scientific-Atlanta and Cisco Systems, including over ten years based in Atlanta, Georgia and Brussels, Belgium, culminating in the role of vice-president and general manager of the worldwide digital media networks business unit.

"Dean has been a great addition to Vecima's board and we are eager to have him even more involved in the day-to-day operations of the company”, said president and CEO Sumit Kumar, in the announcement.  “His depth of professional experience in the cable industry and the technology industry in general is an ideal match for Vecima."
