VICTORIA – Vecima Networks has signed an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement for a new network platform with an unnamed digital video access equipment vendor that it says will build upon its established cable headend technology.
Under the agreement, Vecima will design, manufacture and supply network equipment platforms that interface to the already deployed network devices which are used to provide digital video services. Under the terms of the agreement, the OEM customer has committed to purchase a minimum number of platforms totalling approximately $19 million within two years of the date the customer first ships its new product. Vecima said that it expects to start shipping equipment by the middle of 2013.
"With the execution of this latest agreement, we further solidify our strategy to leverage our core expertise by capturing substantial new opportunities”, said CEO Surinder Kumar, in the announcement. “This agreement will be another significant contributor to our pipeline for future revenue."
