VCom buys wireless companies

VICTORIA – Broadband equipment maker (and small cable operator) VCom Inc. announced this week that it will buy a small cluster of companies that provide "new broadband wireless technologies, synergistic sales channels, and substantial revenues in product sales from Wave Wireless Corporation," says the release. VCom has purchased WaveRider Communications (Canada) Inc., WaveRider Communications (USA) Inc., Jetstream Internet Services Inc., and Avendo Wireless Inc. for US$1 million.
