VANCOUVER – Businesses using Android phones or tablets can now accept credit cards on their mobile devices thanks to a new app from Payfirma.
The Vancouver-based payments company said Monday that it has released its Android mobile payment app which allows anyone with a Payfirma merchant account to accept all major credit cards and Visa Debit on their Android mobile and tablet devices, anytime, anywhere.
Users can swipe a card, sign on the screen, and send their customers a rich e-receipt complete with a map of the location of the purchase. The Android-powered businesses will have access to the real-time sales summary that tracks merchants daily, weekly, and month-to-date sales, location tagging, and multiple language support. The app is already available for the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Blackberry.
"We've been working around the clock to release Android support for our mobile payment application suite," said Payfirma founder Michael Gokturk, in the announcement. "All of our payment software is designed in collaboration with businesses – we build based on what their needs are. By focusing on speed, security and efficiency, our customers can easily accept payments on their phones or tablets and focus on making their businesses great."
The free app is available now for download in the Android Market or on the company’s website.
