MONTREAL – V is readying its own French-language version of U.S. urban dance competition America’s Best Dance Crew.

Starting in January, the Julie Snyder-producer series Danser Pour Gagner will see urban dance teams compete live to be crowned the best dance troupe in Quebec.  The show will be hosted by Olivier Dion.

With only a few hours to rehearse, the dancers must present a choreography developed specifically for the show. Viewers will vote throughout the week for their favourite team and the two groups that garnered the least number of votes will face elimination during the big gala.  After their performance, one team will be eliminated by the show’s judges.

“This large-scale production matches V’s DNA perfectly”, said senior director of programming and development at Groupe V Média, Jacques Mathieu, in the news release.  “Once again, we are presenting a strong brand that will engage viewers on all platforms. We are also reaching an entire generation that identifies with and expresses itself through dance. To be collaborating with Julie Snyder for this high-caliber competition is a guarantee of success!”
