U.S. Senate votes to delay digital transition until June

WASHINGTON, D.C. – After many years of preparation, industry co-operation between broadcasters and cable companies – and months of planning, educational campaigns and awareness creation, the U.S. Senate has decided Americans aren’t ready to have their analog TV shut off on February 17th. According to numerous reports, the Senators voted unanimously to delay the shut down of analog television over-the-air broadcasts until June 12th. Recent research says that over 6 million Americans could be left without television service if the shutdown goes ahead as planned in three weeks.
