U.S. researchers break capacity limits of fibre optic networks

SAN DIEGO, CA - Researchers at the University of California, San Diego have put an end to speculation regarding whether or not the fibre optic cables which form the underlying foundation of the Internet will eventually max out.According to a report on technology site BGR, the researchers recently published a report in the journal Science detailing how they were able to increase the maximum power under which fibre optic signals can be transmitted and accurately decoded.
