U.S cable show dates locked in

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Cable Television Association has set the dates for the first-ever Cable Connection weeks, scheduled for April 1-7, 2009 in Washington, D.C. and October 25-30, 2009 in Denver.

This past March, as reported by Cartt.ca, NCTA’s board of directors approved a plan to realign the national industry meetings and events produced by cable associations and professional societies such as CTAM and the SCTE into two weeks – one in the spring and one in the fall. While the overall schedule has been co-operatively co-ordinated by the various organizations involved, each sponsoring organization will plan and execute its respective events.

"With much of the cable industry gathered in one place at one time, the Cable Connection weeks will be excellent showcases for our industry," said Barbara York, senior vice-president of industry affairs, NCTA, in a press release. "This realigned schedule will allow companies, organizations and participants to experience the many aspects of cable, build stronger relationships within and outside of the industry, and strengthen collaboration."
