TYT news network launches on FuboTV

LOS ANGELES and TORONTO — The largest online progressive news network in the U.S., TYT (which stands for The Young Turks), announced today it is expanding its distribution in the U.S. and Canada by launching on sports-first live TV streaming platform FuboTV.

Starting today, FuboTV Canada subscribers will be able to access TYT’s 24/7 linear channel on the FuboTV platform, which has a growing catalogue of news programming, says a press release emailed to Cartt.ca.

TYT’s channel is included in FuboTV’s Elite and Ultimate channel plans and in its News Plus add-on.

The news network’s programming includes shows such as The Young Turks hosted by Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, The Damage Report with John Iadarola, and Indisputable with Dr. Rashad Richey.

TYT “aims to provide a progressive perspective that other news channels don’t offer, including featured interviews with congressional candidates, coverage of primary elections, and more in the lead-up to the midterm elections,” the release explains.

“TYT sees a partnership with FuboTV as a way to reach new audiences and continue its dominance in watch time among younger audiences in the news and politics vertical.”

“We’re very excited to reach FuboTV’s engaged audience with TYT’s live progressive coverage of news and politics. This distribution partnership with FuboTV is a perfect way for TYT to shine a light on political issues that matter most as TYT furthers its efforts to drive positive change,” said Jack Gerard, TYT’s chief administrative officer, in the release.

Historically, Canada “has been the network’s second largest country in terms of viewership and podcast listenership,” according to the press release.

In addition to FuboTV, TYT’s 24/7 programming is available on YouTube TV, The Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus, Pluto TV, Xumo, Comcast Xfinity X1 and Xfinity Flex, TCL and LocalNow.

FuboTV can be streamed on mobile devices, the web, and connected TV devices, having recently announced its launch on LG Smart TVs and Samsung Smart TVs.
