NEW YORK – Time’s PeopleTV is readying a new nightly interactive entertainment series for Twitter audiences, including those in Canada.
Driven by viewer tweets, questions and polls, The Chatter will cover the day’s entertainment and celebrity headlines. The live prime-time series will premier April 16 at 8:00 PM ET, available via @PeopleTV globally in an ad-supported environment on Twitter and connected devices.
Launched in 2016, PeopleTV is a free, advertiser-supported, OTT streaming service from Time Inc. that is available on connected-TV devices and mobile, in addition to PeopleTV.com. Twitter has been streaming select PeopleTV programming since last November.
“PeopleTV has offered our consumers entertainment and lifestyle programming from its highly-valued franchises,” said Twitter COO Anthony Noto, in the news release. “We look forward to expanding our collaboration by providing Twitter’s entertainment enthusiasts with an all-new, exclusive, nightly program and expert coverage and analysis from marquee events.”
“Our past collaborations with Twitter have been very successful and we’re excited to expand with The Chatter, PeopleTV’s first live prime-time series”, added Time Inc. CEO Rich Battista. “This exclusive series was created specifically for Twitter’s highly-engaged audience to interact in real time about the day’s most topical pop culture moments.”
