TVO’s Todd joins CTV for “new initiative”


TORONTO – Television journalist and host Paula Todd has signed on to join CTV News effective March 1.

The veteran journalist/lawyer will take a leading role in the development of a new and innovative project for CTV News, said CTV News president Robert Hurst.

Full details surrounding this initiative will be announced shortly.

"Paula is recognized as one of Canada’s leading journalists. With her diverse journalistic background and her legal expertise, she’ll be an ideal fit for CTV News," said Hurst.

"I am looking forward to working with CTV News in creating what will be an exciting new initiative for Canadian television," said Todd (pictured).

Todd has held a variety of high-profile positions where she has covered legal and social issues, politics and current affairs. Most recently Todd was at TVO where she hosted and co-produced Person 2 Person with Paula Todd, and was co-host for the popular live current affairs program Studio 2.

Also an author, Todd entered public broadcasting after more than a dozen years at the Toronto Star, where she worked as a political reporter, news reporter and feature writer. She also served as an editorial writer and a member of the newspaper’s editorial board.
