MONTREAL — Quebecor Content announced today a Quebec adaptation of the reality series I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! is set to air on TVA starting this fall.
Produced by Productions Déferlantes in collaboration with Quebecor Content, the Quebec version of this wilderness survival show “is inspired by the British ITV Studios format that has already been sold to 15 countries, including France, UK and Australia,” reads a press release.
“Forget creature comforts, fine food and the good life: well-known personalities of all ages and backgrounds will now be roughing it as they compete in a wide range of hair-raising challenges, in a magnificent setting filled with breathtaking scenery and wild animals. In this arid landscape, celebrities will have to test their courage and push their physical and mental limits in a fight for survival,” reads a description in the press release.
“After acquiring the blockbuster formats The Voice and Love Island, Quebecor Content is proud to collaborate once again with ITV Studios,” said Yann Paquet, vice-president of strategy and international business at Quebecor Content, in the release.
“The new acquisition solidifies our partnership with this high-caliber international distributor, as well as our commitment to offering Quebec audiences the best world-class content. The addition of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! to our roster of major formats reaffirms our entertainment drawing-power, as it generates a renewed sense of excitement among TVA viewers,” Paquet said.
“It is amazing to see the continuing global expansion of this iconic gameshow,” said Arjan Pomper, managing director, global entertainment, at ITV Studios. “We have grown from 3 to 15 countries in the past years and we are very happy to bring I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! to TVA for the first time!”
Quebecor Content’s press release, which did not announce a host for the show or which celebrities will take part, nor their destination, asked viewers to “stay tuned” for more information.
