TORONTO – Canadians report that their favourite advertisements are the ones that they see on television, says a poll released by the Television Bureau of Canada (TVB).
According to a BBM Analytics omniVU study, 65.1% per cent of Canadian adults aged 18 – 49 said that their favourite ad was one that they had seen on TV. Out-of-home ranked second with 8.2%, while the Internet came in with only 5.4% of responses.
Of those who did cite the Internet as carrying their favourite ad, 62.1% said that the ad was a video with sound – not unlike traditional television.
“Advertisers strive to entertain and create an emotional response, and TV does that best,” said TVB president and CEO Theresa Treutler.
