ATLANTA – Turner’s Adult Swim launched its new SVoD service in Canada Wednesday, priced at $3.99 per month.
The streaming mobile service offers more than 400 hours of original and acquired animated and live-action series geared towards young adults. Launched in 2001, Adult Swim says that it’s been basic cable’s #1 network in the U.S. with 18-24 and 18-34 year olds for 11 consecutive years.
Canadians may download the Adult Swim app via the iTunes Store or Google Play for unlimited access to programming like hit series Rick and Morty (pictured), The Venture Bros., The Eric Andre Show, and Robot Chicken. New episodes will be added after they premiere in the U.S. and, where applicable, after they premiere in Canada on Corus Entertainment’s Adult Swim channel. The new app is available on a free trial to allow fans to take it for a spin.
“We continue to experiment with opportunities to reach our fans and give them access to all of our original content,” said Christina Miller, president and GM of Turner’s Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang, in the news release. “Adult Swim’s core audience is a younger generation who wants to consume content on their screen of choice, and this direct-to-consumer offering satisfies this demand by making our most popular programming more widely available in the Canadian marketplace.”
