Turner promotes Sconyers to manager Canadian accounts

ATLANTA – Turner Network Sales announced today the promotion of Laura Sconyers to account manager, Canadian sales and marketing.

TNS is the domestic distribution, sales and marketing arm of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (operators of CNN, Headline News and TBS in the Canadian marketplace).

“Laura is utilizing her industry experience and client service skills to develop strategies and implement successful tactics to meet the growing business needs of our affiliate partners in Canada,” said Matt Tolleson, vice-president, Canadian sales and marketing, in making the announcement. Sconyers is based in Atlanta and reports directly to Tolleson.

As account manager, Sconyers (right) is charged with the distribution, marketing and promotion of CNN, Headline News and TBS throughout Canada. In addition, she supports efforts to meet the challenges and opportunities posed by Canada’s venture into new methods of program delivery, including the transition to digital and HDTV, video on demand, broadband, interactive television and wireless.

Sconyers joined TNS in 2001 as a sales assistant for the central region and most recently served as a research analyst in strategic planning for TNS. She is currently an active member of the Cable Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), CTAM of Canada and Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT).

Turner Network Sales (TNS), a division of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (a Time Warner company), is responsible for the sales and marketing of Turner Broadcasting’s 10 domestic basic cable networks – TBS, CNN, Headline News, TNT, Cartoon Network, Turner Classic Movies, CNN International, CNN en Español, Turner South and Boomerang – to cable and satellite affiliates and special markets throughout the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.
