TORONTO – TSN and Exponentia today announced their own version of a triple-play.
Combining online and mobile game play with TSN’s live coverage of the 2006 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, three-screen prediction game PlayAction, allows hockey fans across Canada to predict key plays in the tournament online and on their mobile devices. This version – named for the combination of TV, computer and mobile – is an extension of last year’s successful PlayAction mobile game during the World Juniors on TSN.
Exponentia’s PlayAction launches today to coincide with Team Canada’s first exhibition game and TSN’s first broadcast of the tournament. Sponsored by Molson, PlayAction will continue throughout the entire World Juniors tournament, which can be seen on TSN through the Gold Medal Game on January 5.
PlayAction gives fans the chance to make predictions throughout each game, including who will score the next goal, who will draw the next penalty, and the final score. Fans are also able to make three picks in advance of each game: Which team will score the first goal? Which team will get the first penalty? Which team will win the game? Points are awarded for correct predictions, and the fan that racks up the most points over the span of the World Juniors will have a chance to win a Home Theatre.
Last year, PlayAction recorded more than 4,500 picks and 115,000 interactions occurring throughout the two-week tournament.
