TSN, Sportsnet, go multi-platform for NHL trade day


TORONTO – TSN and Sportsnet are pulling out all the stops (and platforms) as they gear up to cover Monday’s NHL trade deadline day activity.

Sportsnet is promising 10 hours of coverage across five platforms – television, radio, digital, mobile and print.  The channel’s Hockey Central Trade Deadline show, which begins at 8 am ET/5 am PT on February 27, will be also streamed live in its entirety at sportsnet.ca on desktop, mobile and tablet, as well as via the Sportsnet Hockey Central iPad app and within host Greg Wyshynski’s Puck Daddy blog on Yahoo! Sports.

Hockey fans can also listen to radio stations Sportsnet 590 The Fan (Toronto) and Sportsnet 960 The Fan (Calgary), follow various Sportsnet’s personalities on Twitter, join the network’s fan page on Facebook, and read a trade preview guide in the February 27 issue of Sportsnet magazine which is available on newsstands now.

TSN will offer its 10 hour-long show, Tradecentre ’12, available live in its entirety across TSN Mobile TV, online at TSN.ca, on the Tradecentre app for iPad and iPhone, and in the U.S. on the NHL Network.  It also debuts 8 am ET/5 am PT on Monday.

In addition, TSN Radio locally in Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg along with Bell Media sports radio stations Team 1040 in Vancouver and Team 1200 in Ottawa will feature deadline day coverage, and viewers may also join TSN’s fan page on Facebook.  Fans visiting TSN.ca or using the Tradecentre app can also keep track of all the tweets from TSN’s personalities using the built-in Tweetbox.
