TORONTO – Canadian sports broadcasting duo Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole will return to TSN this fall after a four year stint at Fox in the U.S.
TSN host James Duthie (pictured left) spoke with the homegrown stars Wednesday morning live via satellite from Los Angeles during the network’s coverage of NHL trade deadline day activity. The pair said that they will headline a new show called SC With Jay And Dan that will air weeknights at 12 midnight ET and loop the following morning, starting in September.
TSN said that the new show will serve up a decidedly humorous approach to sports highlights and trending stories, and that Onrait and O’Toole will also provide original digital and social media content across other TSN platforms.
According to a TSN spokesperson, SC With Jay And Dan is a new show that will air in addition to the regular daily editions of the network's flagship daily sports news show SportsCentre, which will continue as per usual. Adding the new show is another way for TSN to utilize its five national feeds.
“Jay and Dan are not only two of Canada’s all-time fan-favourite broadcasters, they are part of the TSN team, and we’re delighted to have them back on the network,” said TSN president Stewart Johnston, in the news release. “TSN has always been committed to delivering an unparalleled experience for our viewers and partners, and with content that’s primed for digital and social media platforms, this new incarnation of SPORTSCENTRE will provide engagement and opportunities for consumers and advertisers alike throughout the day.”
