TORONTO – Ken Volden has been promoted to vice-president and executive producer, news and studio production and Paul Graham to vice-president and executive producer, live events, TSN announced Wednesday.
While continuing to report directly to Mark Milliere, TSN’s senior vice president of production, as part of their new responsibilities Volden and Graham will take a strategic role in the long-term development and enhancement of TSN’s vast slate of live events and original programming across all platforms.
Each year TSN and TSN2 produce more than 2,000 hours of original programming such as the Grey Cup, IIHF World Junior Championship and NHL Playoffs, along with SportsCentre.
"Ken and Paul are two of this country’s finest producers and having them work with Mark Milliere on the executive team will ensure that TSN continues to lead the sports landscape for years to come,” said TSN president Stewart Johnston.
Volden is responsible for all aspects of TSN’s flagship sports news program, SportsCentre, and for TSN’s in-house productions, including the NHL on TSN, CFL on TSN, Off the Record with Michael Landsberg, That’s Hockey and TSN’s The Reporters with Dave Hodge. With more than 20 years of broadcast experience, Volden helped create TSN’s Grey Cup Weekend coverage along with TradeCentre. Volden also had a senior role with Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium, overseeing the assignment desk, editorial team and coverage of all major stories coming out of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
Graham will now oversee all aspects of TSN’s live productions – including coverage of hundreds of NHL, CFL, Hockey Canada, Curling and NBA events each year. Graham has produced more than 1,500 live major league events throughout his career. While at TSN, Graham oversaw two of the most-watched Grey Cups in CFL history along with the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship Gold Medal game – the most-watched broadcast in TSN’s history. Graham was also a key member of Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium’s team, overseeing all production out of Whistler.
