TSN premieres exclusive ESPN documentaries


TORONTO — Starting tonight, TSN is delivering the exclusive Canadian premieres of five new ESPN sports documentaries. ESPN is a minority owner of the Bell Media-owned sports channel.

First up is ESPN 30 For 30: Lance, a two-part look at the rise and fall of cheating pro cyclist Lance Armstrong. Part one premieres tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by part two’s debut on Sunday, May 31 at 9 p.m. ET. The film will encore as part of TSN’s new Tuesday Night Docs series on Tuesday, June 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Then on Friday, May 29 at 7 p.m. ET, the highly anticipated E60: Imperfect – The Roy Halladay Story looks back at the glory and tragedy of the late Toronto Blue Jays’ legendary pitcher (above). The documentary will encore on Tuesday, June 2 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Three other ESPN 30 For 30 documentaries premiering in June focus on martial arts icon Bruce Lee, NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman, and the 1998 season-long home-run-record chase between the steroid-tainted duo St. Louis Cardinals’ Mark McGwire and the Chicago Cubs’ Sammy Sosa.
