TSN hires Marshall, Redmond


TORONTO – TSN today announced it has hired Jim Marshall as executive producer, events, and Shawn Redmond as senior manager, marketing.

Marshall is now responsible for TSN’s mobile productions, including CFL, International Hockey (including the IIHF World Junior Championship), Golf, Tennis, Auto Racing, Figure Skating and Blue Jays Baseball.

Marshall is returning home. He has had stints at TSN as a director/producer and at various CTV stations. Born and raised in Burlington, Ont., Marshall’s career began in 1975 as a copywriter at CTV Regina (CKCK), followed by stints at CTV Kitchener (CKCO), and CTV’s Wide World of Sports. He has also worked on a variety of high profile properties at TSN and CTV, including the 1980 Lake Placid and 1994 Lillehammer Olympic Games, CFL, MLB, and Champ Car World Series.

Most recently, he directed college basketball for Fox Sports Net and Champ Car World Series races for CBS, NBC and Speed Channel.

Redmond joins TSN Marketing from RBC Financial Group. At TSN he will help lead the team in brand management, strategic marketing campaigns and managing promotional relationships with TSN’s various sports partners.

During his tenure with RBC, Redmond managed the relationship with RBC’s sports partners and worked on RBC’s sports-related brand campaigns. Prior to RBC, Redmond was manager, business development with PCS Innovations, developing sales channels for corporate partnerships. His career began at Molson Canada, where he spent four years working on sales and marketing programs. A graduate of Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Redmond played semi-professional hockey in Europe and the United States.
