TORONTO – With about one week until the World Juniors, TSN announced it will debut the first live sports execution of Twitter Amplify in Canada as a complement to its broadcast coverage of the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship (World Juniors, #2014WJC).
TSN’s World Juniors Twitter Amplify campaign will begin leveraging real-time video highlights on the social media platform when the puck drops on Boxing Day. In addition, the network’s official Twitter account (@TSN_Sports) will share exclusive embedded video content from the biggest moments of the World Juniors, allowing hockey fans to instantly access video highlights from the tournament on Twitter. All video tweets will be sponsored by McDonald’s Canada.
“As Team Canada goes for gold, sharing pivotal highlights from the tournament through Twitter Amplify will enrich the World Juniors experience for fans,” said TSN president Stewart Johnston, in the news release. “With this campaign, we aren’t just complementing our extensive coverage of the World Juniors – we’re ensuring that even more Canadians can celebrate the most galvanizing moments of the tournament, as they happen.”
In other news, TSN unveiled a “refreshed” set for its nightly sports news and information show SportsCentre. The iconic desk remains in place, but is now flanked by an additional desk for segments featuring TSN’s team of Insiders and experts. The SportsCentre newsroom has also been revamped.
