TORONTO — Bell Media announced today its TSN and RDS sports networks will be Canada’s new English- and French-language homes of LaLiga (officially known as LaLiga Santander), the top division in Spanish soccer, starting this season.
TSN and RDS have secured the Canadian broadcast rights as part of ESPN’s eight-year deal with LaLiga for the U.S. market, announced earlier this year. ESPN is part owner of both TSN and RDS.
(Previously, pay-TV network beIN Sports was the exclusive English- and Spanish-language broadcaster of LaLiga in the U.S. and Canada.)
Beginning this August, TSN and RDS will broadcast live coverage of LaLiga matches, with coverage and highlights also available on TSN’s SportsCentre and RDS’s Sports 30, as well as on the networks’ digital and social media platforms.
LaLiga coverage will also be available for live streaming and on-demand viewing to TSN, RDS, TSN Direct and RDS Direct subscribers via TSN.ca, RDS.ca and the TSN and RDS apps.
LaLiga features 20 clubs, including the powerhouses FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid and Sevilla FC.
“With many of the most famous teams and biggest stars in the beautiful game, LaLiga is a tremendous addition to our live sports schedule,” said Nathalie Cook, vice-president of TSN and RDS, in a press release.
“As we continue to grow the LaLiga brand and soccer overall throughout North America, offering English and French speakers easy access to the league across Canada via TSN and RDS is a huge opportunity,” added Boris Gartner, LaLiga North America CEO.
“We couldn’t be happier with our latest media rights deals as we build momentum ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.”
