TORONTO – TSN said today it will broadcast the upcoming BMO Financial Group Canadian Championships in high definition.
Scheduled for broadcast on TSN and CTV, beginning this Thursday, it’s the first time a Canadian figure skating event will be televised in HD. The broadcasts will also be produced in 5.1 Dolby digital surround sound, the second TSN production ever to feature this initiative in combination with HD (TSN’s coverage of the 2006 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship was the first), says the press release.
TSN and CTV will televise 11 hours of the Ottawa meet, through Sunday, Jan. 15.
TSN’s and CTV’s broadcast schedule of the BMO Financial Group Canadian Championships is as follows:
• Thursday, Jan. 12 – Women’s Short, Pairs Short at 7 p.m. ET on TSN and TSN HD
• Friday, Jan. 13 – Men’s Short, Women’s Free at 7 p.m. ET on TSN and TSN HD
• Saturday, Jan. 14 – Original Dance, Pairs Free, Men’s Free at 7 p.m. ET on CTV, CTV HD East and CTV HD West (check local listings)
• Sunday, Jan. 15 – Free Dance at 1 p.m. ET on CTV, CTV HD East and CTV HD West (check local listings)
Saturday, Jan. 21 – Parade of Champions at 8 p.m. ET on CTV, CTV HD East and CTV HD West (check local listings)
