HALIFAX – TSN’s coverage of the pre-season CFL game ‘Touchdown Atlantic’ in Halifax on Saturday, attracted a national average minute audience of 352,000 viewers, reports the channel.
Very good numbers, especially for a pre-season game. Audience levels peaked at 454,000 viewers during the final minutes of the game (10 p.m. to 10:23 p.m. ET) as Toronto and Hamilton played to a 16-16 tie.
The game also marked Chris Cuthbert’s TSN debut in the broadcast booth and represents a 13% increase from last year’s regular season average (311,000 viewers for 50 regular season games). All numbers are from Nielsen Media Research.
TSN has the most comprehensive CFL broadcast schedule in network history with 53 regular season games in 2005, 21 of which will be available in high definition. TSN will televise a 90-minute CFL season preview show on Monday, June 20 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ET.
The regular season on TSN kicks off with the season opener featuring Hamilton @ Montreal on June 22.
