TORONTO – Starting this weekend, CP24 Breakfast becomes the first morning TV news show in Toronto to be served up seven days a week.
The CTV-owned local news channel said that starting at 7 a.m. on March 19, the new weekend editions will give Torontonians the news, weather and traffic info that they need to kick-start their weekends.
“Saturday and Sunday are two of the most important days in the week for many of us,” said Bob McLaughlin, SVP CTV production and GM of CP24, in the announcement. “Toronto doesn’t take the weekends off and neither do we. Extending our services into the weekend for our viewers means they have the breaking weather, traffic and news they need to optimize the weekends.”
Hosts will include Pooja Handa and Gurdeep Ahluwalia along with remote anchor George Lagogianes and weather specialist Nneka Elliott.
