Topic streaming service to premiere Eli: A Dog in Prison doc

NEW YORK — First Look Media’s streaming service, Topic, announced yesterday the documentary Eli: A Dog in Prison will premiere exclusively on Topic on August 26. Produced and directed by Jason B. Kohl and Nora Mandray of Mako Films, the documentary follows three prisoners who form an unlikely bond as they struggle to transform a rambunctious but loveable Labrador puppy called Eli into a highly disciplined guide dog in 12 months, “all while charting their own uncertain path to rehabilitation in the broken American prison system,” reads a synopsis of the film.
