Top IT execs to share best practices at Cable Show ’08

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Nearly 30 senior level information technology executives will bring their strategic IT know-how to The Cable Show ’08 in New Orleans next month. Specifically designed for chief information officers (CIOs) and other IT executives, the CIO.IT program track will be making its third appearance at the annual Cable Show.

With IT driving growth and serving as the operational backbone for cable and telecommunications companies, CIO.IT has become a key component of the cable industry’s annual convention, according to event organizer NCTA (National Cable & Telecommunications Association).

“CIO.IT is an opportunity for IT executives to come together, share information about initiatives, compare notes on best practices, and discuss issues that affect our industry,” said Christina Anderson, director of Web strategy for NCTA and founder of the CIO.IT program.

“The track also provides an opportunity for others in the cable industry to understand the impact of IT and how it affects the bottom line,” Anderson said.

The CIO.IT program will feature a keynote luncheon address, six panel discussion sessions and a series of other networking events. Panel topics will include metadata management strategies, customer care advancements, online portal design best practices, marketing support technologies, and automation and workflow processes. A special breakfast session will feature top female executives in the cable industry.

The Cable Show ’08, NCTA’s 57th Annual Convention and International Exposition, will be held May 18-20 at the Ernest Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
