TORONTO – The Banff World Media Festival announced that CBS president of entertainment, Nina Tassler, will deliver the opening keynote at this year’s festival.
Tassler will be joined by David Stapf, president of CBS Television Studios and Armando Nuñez, president and CEO, CBS Global Distribution Group, who will co-present a CBS Global Content Keynote. “CBS Corp. is a leading content company worldwide, led by the most watched network and highly successful studio. As this year’s distinguished Company of Distinction at BANFF, we are honoured to welcome these top CBS executives who are shaping and distributing the content seen by audiences around the world,” said Ferne Cohen, executive director of the Banff World Media Festival, in a release.
Banff named CBS Corp. its inaugural Company of Distinction for this year’s event. Each year this program will allow the festival to celebrate a company demonstrating significant leadership in the world of screen based entertainment.
As president, CBS Entertainment, Tassler oversees the CBS Network’s entertainment programming for prime time, late night and daytime, and has led the development for such shows as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, NCIS, Big Bang Theory, The Good Wife, Person of Interest, Hawaii Five-0, among others. David Stapf, president of CBS Television Studios since 2004, oversees program development and production for network, basic cable and premium channels.
Nuñez oversees a worldwide television distribution operation that includes CBS Television Distribution, a syndicator of first-run and off-network programming, and CBS Studios International, which licenses CBS programming worldwide to more than 200 markets across multiple media platforms.
