TLN Telelatino to offer three more Spanish-language channels

TORONTO – TLN Telelatino Network will launch three new Spanish language TV channels in Canada thanks to its expanded alliance with Hemisphere Media Group.

The new channels, to be exclusively represented and promoted in Canada by Telelatino, are:

– Centroamerica TV, a general entertainment channel that features news entertainment, series and lifestyle programming from Central America, plus exclusive live coverage of more than 100 soccer games a year from the national teams of El Salvador, Honduras and Costa Rica;

– WAPA America, the cable-network arm of Puerto Rico’s WAPA Television, the channel delivers more than 75 hours a week of live, original news and entertainment programming from Puerto Rico, as well as exclusive coverage of the Puerto Rican Basketball League; and

– Television Dominicana, the go-to channel for direct access to news, entertainment and sports programming from the Dominican Republic including exclusive carriage of the Dominican baseball league five days a week during the regular season and playoffs.

“TLN pioneered and has developed an expertise in the Canadian Hispanic media market over our 30 year history,” said president Aldo Di Felice, in the announcement made Tuesday from NATPE Market & Conference.  “The introduction of these TV channels further solidifies our ongoing commitment to serving the needs and interests of Canada’s Spanish speaking market which has grown into the leading foreign language community in the country.”
