TLN Media Group launches distribution company


TORONTO — TLN Media Group (TMG) is launching a new distribution company, TMG Worldwide Media Distribution, representing a made-in-Canada multilingual programming catalogue featuring a variety of genres ranging from lifestyle and travel to documentary features, dramas, comedies and children’s series.

The multilingual programming on offer includes English, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Tagalog/Filipino shows with more languages to come, TLN Media Group said in its news release on Tuesday. The current catalogue includes more than 300 episodes of original content, with 43 new TV and digital media projects in production, TLN Media Group says.

The TMG Worldwide Media Distribution catalogue features recently completed titles including:

ENGLISH: Opening Sicily, a sumptuous six-part food and travel exploration series with culinary personalities Rob Rossi and Craig Harding. Discover the most seductive regions in Italy that have been luring travellers for decades, including Palermo, Catania, Messina, Vizzini, Occhipinti and Mount Etna.

SPANISH: Additional episodes of My Name Is Ripley (Mi Nombre es Ripley), a children’s language learning series starring an adorable French bulldog named Ripley.

ITALIAN: Ortona: The Canadian Stalingrad (La Stalingrado Canadese), a moving documentary featuring the historic Battle of Ortona during WWII as recounted by the last living Italian-Canadian survivors.

The launch of TMG Worldwide Media comes during a busy year for the company. Its original TLN TV channel, which launched as Telelatino in 1984, is celebrating its 35th anniversary. Plus, earlier this year in March, TLN Media Group became a fully independent media company.
