TLN boasts audiences higher than TIFF

TORONTO – Capitalizing on the country’s film festival fever earlier this month, TLN Television says that its recent Cinema Paradiso Film Festival attracted more viewers than the Toronto International Film Festival did.Citing NLogic data, the broadcaster said that more than 500,000 movie aficionados from across the country tuned in between September 6 - 18 for its Cinema Paradiso Film Festival, which featured English subtitled award-winning foreign films including four first time Canadian premieres.“This unique TV event was inspired by grumblings over recent years about TIFF not being accessible to everyone”, said TLN president Aldo Di Felice, in the news release....
