TORONTO – Fantasy sports fans can now thumb their way onto television.
Score Media today announced the release of Score Predictor, a mobile fantasy sports application from the company’s ScoreMobile division that lets viewers interact with their TV using their wireless phone.
Score Predictor gives fans the opportunity to text in their picks for the outcome of three games per day per league, as league schedules permit, with the top performers being recognized on The Score Television Network.
"Score Predictor brings a very public social dimension to fantasy sports, which are usually played online," said Dale Fallon, director, mobile, Score Media. "The convenience of SMS messaging combined with the broad reach of television is something that our fans crave and that’s why we’ve created this unique offering. We piloted this application earlier this summer and received a great deal of positive feedback from our fans making our decision to take this application to the next level an easy one."
Supplied by Toronto’s MyThum Interactive, Score Predictor is an application that gives fans the chance to be heard and be recognized for predicting the right outcome of sets of games. Their nicknames, predictions and trash talk will be aired on The Score Television Network giving participants their few minutes of fame.
Beginning with the NFL football and NHL hockey seasons, Score Predictor will soon be available to sports fans throughout all major sports seasons. As an added incentive, a 50" plasma TV will be drawn from amongst players this fall, with the most successful prognosticators having the greatest chance to win.
