TORONTO – Corus Entertainment Inc. announced that Maple Lodge Farms and world-renowned children’s entertainers The Wiggles have joined on as new partners of the second annual Corus Feeds Kids Spring Campaign.
The company says the new partnerships will raise additional awareness for Corus Feeds Kids and help stock the shelves of local food banks. The spring campaign runs from June 10 to 21, 2013.
Maple Lodge Farms, Ontario's largest supplier of locally grown chicken, will donate the proceeds raised through the Maple Lodge Farms annual charity golf tournament on June 13 to Corus Feeds Kids. The company has also pledged a generous donation of products to local food banks, while its special events team will be cooking up a variety of their products at select Corus fundraising events throughout the month.
Corus’ collaboration with The Wiggles children’s entertainers kicked off with an exclusive fundraising event in May at Corus' Toronto facility, Corus Quay, as well as a public service announcement featuring their music video, Power Through the Day. The Wiggles have also committed a portion of each ticket sold on the Canadian-leg of their Taking Off tour to local area food banks on behalf of Corus Feeds Kids.
“Corus Feeds Kids is proud to be working with Maple Lodge Farms and The Wiggles to help nourish children's bodies and minds and improve the lives of young Canadians,” said Corus president and CEO John Cassaday in a release. “Together, we are confident that the campaign will garner support and awareness for Canada’s local food banks.”
The two-week campaign includes Corus Feeds Kids Day on June 14, a day dedicated to raising funds for local food banks. Corus Radio stations across the country will broadcast live from their local food banks and local campaign partner locations to drive awareness and funds towards alleviating childhood hunger in Canada.
