OAKVILLE, ON – The Weather Network and MétéoMédia parent Pelmorex Media Inc. has released an app for Apple Watch that allows users to check localized weather forecasts at a glance.
Unveiled Thursday, the app offers current weather conditions, "feels like" temperature and severe weather and storm alerts on the glance screen, while a tap on the glance screen accompanied by an upwards swipe reveals additional information such as wind, humidity, yesterday's high/low and atmospheric pressure. Users may also retrieve detailed weather information for favourite locations by swiping left.
"The Apple Watch is one of the must-have tech accessories this year and as Canada's leading weather provider, we strive to remain on the forefront of where our users are headed," said Naomi Lipowski, Pelmorex Media’s director of TV apps & emerging technologies, in the news release. "It's a priority for us to be available on the newest technologies so Canadians have access to the information they need to plan their day."
The Weather Network also offers weather apps for mobile and tablet devices such as Android, Blackberry and Windows, PC and Mac computers, as well as interactive and Connected TV apps.
