TORONTO – Monday Night Raw is going to The Score.
On Wednesday, World Wrestling Entertainment and the headline sports channel will make official a deal that is already a bit of an open secret among wrestling fans.
TSN has held the property as counter-programming to Monday Night Football for years, enjoying spikes of stellar ratings as professional wrestling’s mainstream popularity ebbed and flowed. Raw aired Mondays at 9 p.m., same as MNF.
However, TSN will add ESPN’s Monday Night Football to its schedule this fall (in addition to airing NBC’s Sunday Night telecast), meaning that Raw had to move somewhere else in the TSN schedule or off the network entirely.
The Score confirmed the programming addition to Cartt.ca (it certainly fits the young, male demographic the channel is aimed at) however TSN declined to comment.
